The Course also envisions a different way to communicate with one another. It suggests that the miracle worker extends a gift of a new perception to those who need it, conveyed through sincere acts of caring and kindness. Similarly, the miracle receiver responds by extending love to the giver and receiving it in return. This is a holy interaction in which they transcend the separateness that has been foundational to their old pattern.

In the Course, miracles are the expression of God’s Love. He uses them to release our identification with our ego identities and restore our innate wholeness. It is the function of the miracle worker to offer the gift of a new perception to those who desperately need it, and the role of the miracle receiver to receive the gift and extend the gift in return. To do so, they must be free from any resentments that may have prevented them from seeing the truth. The only way to achieve this freedom is by recognizing the true nature of the relationship between God and His Sons. By doing so, they can enter into the eternal joy of the Love of God. In the end, the purpose of the Course is to lead all minds to this joy. This is accomplished by teaching them that what they have been looking for all their lives is a miracle.
